LeeMar starfire 290 mixed reef build

Amazing Tank, I'm upgrading this month from 90 to 250DD. I use 3 kessils now, I was planning on going with a cheaper light vs the Kessils, but I do like the shimmer and look.

Thanks Ivan, That is an AWESOME upgrade!

I really like the shimmer too. I think on smaller tanks it can get a little crazy, but on my big tank, I find it very relaxing. Seems like the effect is a little less with more water.

There seem to be a lot of great options for lighting these days. I can say that I support the Kessils though. I recently got my calcium reactor up and running and the tank has stabilized. It's going to be 2 years next month, and it has finally hit the sweet spot. The corals are going crazy. Color and growth are better than ever and I am so impressed. I am crossing my fingers I can keep it in that spot!!

Got a new Golden Dwarf Moray Eel and a red fromia starfish. Made a little video of them adapting to the new digs.

 
Tank turns 2!

Tank turns 2!

So the tank is turning 2 years old in a couple weeks and has changed SO much! I took a video last night after a big water change and wanted to share it. It really shows some of the amazing coral colors and growth under the Kessils. I'm a proud papa for sure!

 
I just read through the whole thread. The tank looks great I could not imagine doing 80gal water changes 2x monthly! Glad to hear you didnt loose much when the snail went rambo on the plumbing

Wow, thanks for taking the time to read through. I appreciate it. Yes, the "snail incident" was a bummer, but part of this learning thing I keep hearing about. LOL! You know, the water changes can be a bit much, but I have actually come to love spending a day with the tank. Makes me take time to really enjoy it. Thanks again for reading.
 
New Camera

New Camera

Got a new camera and was playing with it today. Very pleased with shots right out of the box. Haven't played with any custom settings, only the stuff on the dial on top. Camera is a Canon T5i with an 18-55mm IS STM lens.

I have been running Kessil (a350) for 1,5 years now and have been very pleased with them. How far from the water are you running them and how much % of white and blue channel are you using?
