Leftover Driveway Marker

I wanted a feeding stick for my brain coral tonight. Since i have spent all my Christmas money i figured i better DIY one. So i dug around and came across a leftover fiberglass driveway marker from doing my rock scape. I took my little hand belt sander and ground it to a long tapered sharp point. I then found a length of vinyl tubing that would freely slip over it and cut it about 6" shorter than the rod (adjust length of rod to match depth of tank) and slip over rod. I was able to spear a chunk of krill easily with it and when i had it near the target, slid the vinyl down to place the krill. Since the vinyl has a bit of bend to it it won't fall off the rod. It works great and is easy to make. Also works well to fend off greedy fish till the coral grabs it.

I heard that if you do a 2liter bottle trick, might be a little easier than sitting there waiting until your brain grabs the food.

Exactly. Try feeding on the bottom of a 30" deep tank, its worth the five mins it took to make.

I use a wooden dowel from Drug Mart. It cost like $.65 and it's 36" long. They have different diameters. +2 on the DIY King.....

I had one a while back but the wood will get nasty after a while. The fiberglass isn't bothered.
