Leonardo's Formosa Forest

Awesome reef Leonardo !! Proof once again that "less is more".

How do you get by with such a small amount of live rock. Is it your feeling that the "rule" of at least one pound of live rock per gallon is a myth?

I'd like to get by with much less LR myself.

I don't know it is a myth or not... My tank is doing well, parameters are stable, corals and fish are healthy. No nitrate problems etc. at all. I do have a RDSB in the sump, maybe that makes a difference...

This tank is so beyond TOTM, it is ground breaking. Leonardo will die of old age before the TOTM officials understand the significance of a tank like this.

Leonardo you have inspired more people in going with a BB system than you know! I think your tank is significant in this aspect and definitely TOTM material. It would be a damn shame if you were not chosen sooner or later.

FUA, kysard1, thank you very much.

drouner, I forgot to mention I change 10% of the water every two weeks with RODI and Reefers Best. I add some Tropic MArin BioMagnesium to bring the Magnesiumlevel to 1400-1500.

uhuru, I hope I inspired people, that's the best you could hope for if you show your tank to the community.
I hope people can see through to whole BB controverse. When I started this tank it seemed like a good theory, and I liked the look of it. I think it has contributed to make the tank like it has developed untill today. Thanks.

Thank you King-Kong! :) Good to hear from you. How's your tank doing now?

Leonardo

No better.. still slowly losing corals..

Clams, zoas, etc. continue to grow and look healthy, but most SPS are still dying.

I am sending my water out this week to be tested by aquarium water testing .com to see if there is anything wrong.

Keep up the good work!

Leonardo,

I knew it was only a matter of time before I saw more good stuff from you. Lovin the display! Thanks for showing me the apogons as well, I am loving my small shoal!

Cheers

Thanks dphinsx2, I use a Nikon D40 on a tripod. Standard lens.

Mikigo, Thank you!

Serioussnaps, thank you. The Apogons are my favorite fish too :)

I believe there was a request for this before, can you post a picture of your sump in action. Also, I am interested if you have pics of any other tanks projects you have done in the past.
