Love it.... glad you didn't attempt to add more rocks - letting the corals grow out will look a lot more natural, IMO - GREAT JOB Leo :)

Looks amazing Leonardo, as always truly shows your reef keeping skills... now let me pick your brain a tad... have you ever thought about adding just but just a half inch coarse sand layer? that would POP out the colors in your corals more and since is a shallow reef the white reflection would definitely make everything stand out more.

with or without the coarse sand your tanks have always impresses me man!!! :smokin:

I was going to ask the same question but its his tank and he can add or not add sand. So for this reason i did not ask but since you did i wouldlike to know as well is there a reason that led you to a barebottom system verse a sand bottom system?
Thanks
Michael
Or did you go with a RDSB again?

I totally know, im not trying to intrude here at all just curious to know if he thought about this in the process, and i meant a thin layer of sand not a DSB ;) I totally like the style of his tanks.

is it possible to use sand in a high flow tank like this? i was thinking of going with the x=large Ca reactor media in mine, but Nick pointed it it would prob turn purple... which kinda defeats the purpose...

Thanks for the reactions and compliments! :) First I would like to wish you all a good New Year.

I agree a bit of sand would make the tank look a lot better in this stadium. But within a year I hope to accomplish a fully covered bottom (acropora and montipora) to create a real Reef Top. Sand would not be needed aesthetically at that point. Besides that I'm still a true believer in the BB-Methodology. Another thing is that the sand won't settle with a 71+ turnover (+ a Tunze 6200 on wavebox (pulse) controller) in a tank this shallow.

Wow! 71x turnover. The fish are gonna need something to hold onto. :p
