Is it natural for these guys to dissapear for a couple of days?

I added on yesterday along with a Dwarf Angel and the angel is doing fine, I lost site of the Wrasse and havnt seen him since, when should I expect him to emerge for food?

Bit worried :(

from what I have read about them, they liked to burry themselves in the sandbed and they are very hard to keep alive. LIke manderines, they only like live food. Do a search though and see what you can find...

Good Luck! and Beautiful fish!!

It took more than 1 month for my leopard wrasse to get acclimated to my tank schedule. The first couple of days, he spent most of his time sleeping/ burried in the sandbed.
Depending on individual fish, I had one that adjusted to my tank schedule within 1 week.
They're not the easiest fish to keep when the first time you get them, because they don't ship well & can't handle stress well.
But once they get rid of their jet lag & start eating, they are pretty hardy. If there's other fish bothers the leopard, make sure you have a close canopy since it'll jump out just like any other wrasse. Good luck.

I didnt see mine for a week after I added it. Thought it was a goner. Once the weekend rolled around, I finally saw it (what a great surprise) and realized that it's schedule was basically to get up while I was at work, and go back under the sand right before I got home. About another week later, and it's time had adjusted.

I have had several of them. I mostly like the Potter's Wrasses. They are super hardy once they get used to tank life.

Mine always have a full belly and will eat anything that I put in the tank.

You can check them out here.

i cant remember how my leapord wrasse acted when I first got him....but after initial insertion he would burry in the sand at 10pm and come out every morning at 9 am like clockwork...pretty cool!
