Let me introduce to you some new clowns :)

Today was a good day for photography! Let me share my new clowns I've paired with my older ones.

Meet Swarley, soon to be mate of Zoltan:

Now I introduce to you Sherman, the new mate to Gladys. I bought him as a Clarkii but his markings are a little unusual from what I can tell for Clarkiis. A color variant perhaps? They usually don't have the dark tail. He has just begin to share her anemone. I apologize for the anemone, it was eating and/or doing its business at the time of these photos. It probably doesn't know it should be embarrassed.

Thanks Tom, I saw the start of your tank build too your son looks like the cutest little helper! I'm going to have to check out that T-rex restaurant too.

Brian- Yeah Gladys is THE sweetest clownfish I ever met. While she was a single gal she was more of a column swimmer than a territorial type of fish. She would beg for food and give my finger kisses waiting patiently for it. She's not aggressive at all the way some bigger clowns can be (I'm thinking specifically of maroons on this thought).

When I introduced Sherman she defended her anemone but didn't attack him at all. She just shoo'd him away until she got used to him. My blenny was more aggressive toward him but that went away after about 3 days. Now in the last two days they snuggle up together in the anemone. Its normally out and open but at the time in the picture it was eating a large chunk of silverside. However I wonder if the two of them are on the larger side for this one. I may have to put one of my bigger ones in from my other tank. Time will tell.

Now that they are together I'm very very curious to see if she will lay eggs. Many people are able to get their latz to lay but very few are able to raise them past the .. larval stage. I think I used the right word there, I just woke up a little bit ago so my thinker isnt turned completely on yet. Clarkiis are supposed to be very hardy, it would be curious in the future to consider raising any potential fry just to see what a hybrid might look like.
