dudester - yea i probably can. Its hard to tell from the pics, but that run goes nowhere right now...its capped off. I figured this way I'll be able to add on if I want to (maybe to feed my calcium reactor if I decide to go that route...still debating between a reactor and dosing pumps)

untamed - yes, I am planning a tub under the pump (you meant under not over right?).

btw, I guess I didn't mention but the goal was to keep as much of the plumbing out of the way of the back of the tank so its as easy as possible to work in the tank and to work in the sump. I'm pretty happy how this is looking in that regard.

not running yet... Its a little over halfway full of water....making 300+ gallons of RO water takes a few days :)

Are you making trips to the glacier machine with buckets? lol. Thats how I filled my 60g up, boy did that suck. Vortechs, Sfiligoi, Reeflo... wheres the 300 gpd RODI unit? ;)

You already have the rock and everything dont ya? Curious if you put the water or the sand and rock in first. Last time I put the sand in last and that cause a dust storm for days.

A brute can with the brute dolly is an invaluable resource ;)

And the requisite mermaid shot....

About time you get your tank up and something in it.:D
Looks like your almost ready for water. Looking good my friend.

Still trying to catch up!

After the tank was built I thought about the end overflow... glad to see you got it in!

Wavemakers... post a vid and impressions on this when you can. I like how it doesn't take up tank room like the Tunze... but I haven't seen it on a tank with livestock in it so I'm not sure how much surging happens within the tank. I'm also curious about t5 and ripples =)

Bar... this si one idea I'm probably going to steal from you! I was thinking maybe even popup bars or cupholders lol

Sump... wow, nice! I'm going to have phosban and carbon in seperate containers, are you going to use the one?

Skimmer - ty for the pics, now I don't have to read the instructions =) are you putting flow meters anywhere? how are you feeding the CA reactor? I thought off the main pump but I'm not sure of the pressure/consistency? hmmm

Look on the bright side fish truck... at 6 foot 3, you can try to talk her into a bigger tank =) lol.

Darn good point! :D :D :D

Sorry....TUBV is True Union Ball Valve. I don't see how you are going to remove the pump when the time comes to clean/service it.

ya cliffy you have the tru union valve on the inlet of the pump but not the outlet side. are you planning on being able to rotate the actual pump to unscrew it off the threaded fittings? looks like its too close to the frag tank stand for that.

Even if you could do that, the water would come pouring back at you.

I'm sure the image is not necessary...but like this:

Yup, one of my friends had also pointed that out. I am going to add a TUBV (like the lingo :) ). Also going to add some ball valves to the the 3/4" returns going to each sea swirl. It was pointed out with the Y splitter, that flow might enter the returns unevenly, so adding some ball valves will allow me to adjust that.

cliffy, if your floor on the foundation, or is your house elevated? I really want my tank in the side bedroom, but dont want to deal with the stands under the house.

I'm on the 6th floor of a converted factory building so my floor is concrete.

crappiness. I wonder if my tank will fall through the floor if I put it in the extra bedroom with no jacks under the floor.

With a 20" depth I wouldnt think you have too much to worry about. Your PSI is much less than on my tank (I have about 30% more PSI to support)....have you thought about having an structural engineer look at it? Might cost a couple hundred but it would be nice to have piece of mind...

No, because for a couple hundred dollars I could just buy the stands lol ;)

36dx60 / 1900 lbs = 1.137 PSI if I do it correctly? My 24x24 / 600 lb tank is .96 PSI. If the math is correct there, that doesnt seem like too big of a difference.
