Place a tee at the end of the outlet with a 8-10inch pipe out the top and then you can run the return directly into the water.

Cool, I was thinking something like a durso, I'll try that.

Any ideas on the noisy Snapper JR?

willing to buy pics of RyanBrucks avatar (wife?) and mcliffy2 wife cleaning the glass. I'll get min to also and we'll be 1/4 the way to the hottest RC calendar ever! (it might just pay for our new tanks lol)

Mc - have a pic of the setup of the snapper? is it the actual pump or vibrating on something? For me, if other pumps couldn't get enough water they would be pumping bubbles into the tank - like they would "shear" the water or something.

If you still have it plumbed like the shots previously in your thread, then it is possible that the cause is from having the elbow too close to the pumps inlet.

Put foam under... I used that home depot insulation foam that's like 1/2" thick for the outside of homes- but I haven't turned on the pump yet so I don't know if what type of sound to expect (I've never seen a dart, only the barracuda). If it's too loud I'll have to close up the stand b4 I get kicked out of the house for the racket.

I actually replumbed it so it has a straight run from the sump now. I also put a mouse pad under it to try and dampen the vibrations, but to no avail.

chrissreef - I wouldn't worry too much, something weird is up with my snapper. The dart powering my reeflo 250 is dead silent.

No, not yet. I have one last troubleshooting item to try. Once i've exhausted all troubleshooting problems in the user guide, I'll give them a call.

so what's your impressions of the sfiligoi? + and -? shimmer affect w/ ur bulbs? is it just surface waves or does it create a rocking all the way down?

havent hooked up the xenus yet....Ill report when I do, but I have a long list of things to do before that - auto top-off, plumb frag tank, fix noise on skimmer, finish off the drywall, paint, build the bar, etc.

I like the Tunze ATO, It uses lasers. :D

Yea it looks nice...I'm going to try and set it up today.

A few corals are starting to color back up so I snapped some macros. Man does flat glass make a big difference in photo quality....

colors are coming back nicely.

whats next on your agenda? will you be starting on the bar anytime soon?

just a thought, but maybe you should make the bar top itself removable with only 2-4 big lag screws or bolts in case you need to bring a stool up close to the front of the tank for major maintenance tasks. I bet you are finding that space valuable since there is no bar blocking you yet.
