Wow... Im a bit surprised at how popular these tanks are!

Taku... What are the demensions of your 120? I noticed the small overflow boxes... are you running external overflows through the back? Did you do this due to the bottom being tempered?

Thanks

hey how is the longhorned cowfish holding up in your reef tank?

ever have any problems???
eating corals etc etc

see you have a lion in there
dont know much about lionfish but neat to see both LHCF and LF in a reef - like it when people do things that are out of the ordinary... espec if/when they work out! (i already know all the hearsay about lhcf!)

regards

oh btw WELCOME TO REEF CENTRAL!

I have had him in there for over a year and no problems from him. One time he nipped at some gsp but after that one time he hasn't touched a thing.

Just getting my photos uploaded in prep for the tank build thread, but here's a shot of the cabinet we had made for our 190g (60x24x30). I'll post tank pictures soon, but hoping this gives you an idea of 60" tank dimension...

MeuserReef -- I have the 60x24x18 I think it is? It didn't come with built in overflows and I wanted a sump, so I have 2 hang on back overflows that are rated for 600gph each. The left side dumps to a fuge with rock and macros... which I drilled 2 x 2" holes to gravity drain to the sump on the right. The right overflow also drains directly to the sump which houses my euroreef skimmer and 950gph return pump and carbon. On the return pipe I put a "redirect" with a hose bib type knob so if too much water is returning to the tank I can divert some of it back into the sump. The only time too much water returns to the tank is if one of the overflows isn't running. They are very reliable though, so long as the pump is running at full capacity with no redirecting water, both overflows run great. I've never had a tank overflow with the hang on back overflows and I've been using them on this tank since I set it up in '01.

With all that said... my next tank will have built in overflows :D

Well... I found my tank. I was at PetSmart this weekend and noticed a Marineland/Perfecto 120 gallon "Extra High" tank sitting up in the overstock rack that was still wrapped in its factory cardboard! Well, now its sitting in my garage! :D

The demensions of this tank are: 60" x 18" x 26". A perfect reef tank (In my totally biased opinion!):D:D

So now that I have my tank,

LET'S SEE SOME MORE 5' TANKS!!!!

jubjubrsx,

What are the demensions of that tank? I dont think I have ever seen a 5' 75 gallon. With a shallow tank, you will get much more "bang for your buck" with regards to lighting.

I wish I knew how to take a better FTS.

I know the feeling..... :(

I like the rockwork that you have setup. Im excited to be moving from a 36" x 12" footprint to a 60" x 18"! Much more possibilities with the aquascaping.

Im thinking that I will have at least one "tower" that I will build using an acrylic rod... but I honestly have no idea as to the rest. Not a really bad problem to have....

Not a bad problem to have at all. I have about 100lbs of LR in the display. It is almost all big pieces. I used reef epoxy to hold it all together. I did not have the patience to drill the rock and use rods. :)
