Lets see those closed loops!

I am trying to figure out how Im going to design my closed loop for my 125g. I really like the simplicity of Melev's design (http://www.melevsreef.com/closedloop.html), and at this point plan to pretty much duplicate his setup. Id like to see pics of some other reefers closed loops too. Any pics that can give me good ideas for plumbing, placement, etc would really help. Thanks!

Dan, that looks great! I like how you have the outlets resting on the sides of the tank... My tank is built similarly. I had planned to copy Melevs design and have just 2 outlets... but I think I will take a page from ur book.. and maybe have 4 instead. What pump are you using? I was considering using a Mag 9.... but for 4 outlets maybe a mag 12 would be more appropriate. I planned to use a SCWD, so that will cut down the flow, as will the extra outlet. But ur design is REALLY clean... thanks for the ideas!

It's a Sequence Snapper pump, rated at 2500 GPH. It's divided into eight 3/4" outlets, so each outlet is about 310 GPH. It looks just right so far. I tried to minimize losses from tubing, and bends, so I'm not sure how much is actually making it out of each outlet, but it should be pretty close to 250-310 GPH.

One thing I realized is that if any of the tubing touches the drywall, it makes the pump louder because the pump vibrations make the whole wall humm. I need to do a little adjustment to the plumbing to keep this from happening, but even right now, it's quiet.

I would use at least 4 outlets on a 125.

I set up my new 225g tank with two sequence dart pumps, one for my return and one used for my closed loop placed on the back of my tank. 8 outlets. So in total I have somewhere around 6000-7000 gph.
