ouinla, I guess you didn't pick up any at Dave's last weekend. I may have 1 or 2 of the yuma type.

I couldn't find any. That stuff went fast. Thanks again for the xenia. That piece you gave me has turned into a center piece lol. That thing is huge. I would love some ricordia. i'm about to install T5's and then do a litte rearranging of the rock. So I am not in a big rush. What kind of lights do you have?

Right now I have 4 96w PC's, 2 10k Daylight and 2 atinic. Soon to have 2 175w MH. I just need to get the bulbs! T5's, sweeeet!

I think since the tank has warmed up a bit, my shrooms and ricordia have started to jump. I'll round up the next ones.

Just started reefing so no clue, but it would make sense that they would grow faster (thus inevetebly split faster). From what I have read, it seems that many corals can get their energy from harvesting zoo (not zoa), but eating is benifitial and or neccesary. It would seem that feeding them would speed up their metabolic proccess to some degree.

Assuming I got that right... can you over feed? I have seen some posts that folks feed their ricordia about 2x a week..

I feed mine every thrid day. Sometimes I can get them to eat every second day but it's not easy. You usually have to wait twice as long or try over and over to feed them. So I just do it evrery thrid day so I don't waist too much of my time.

Over feeding is impossible, I'm not sure why but Eric told me so.:D And just for some added info from him he says that it only takes a few hours for them to digest the food you give them.... so you might be able to get them to eat twice in 24 hours? I'm not sure how long it takes for them to expell waists though.

Man, I always hit that post button too soon.

Flake, I've seen that ricoridas usually grow in size when I feed and don't usually split faster. I think they are just trying to accommodate for the large pieces of "reef suprise" that I give them instead of trying to split. Fedding them also increases the mouth population on your ricoridas. I notice that you can give them as many food chunks as they have mouths..... But make sure the food is not too small and not too big. They won't bother with something too small, and the won't be able to take in something too large. It takes practice.;)
(I've seen some mouths tank in two pieces, but it's not very common).
