Let's see those mushroom pictures!

Here's one that has had two mouths for some time. Today it curled up and glared at me. I call this picture "Seeing Double"

I just wish it was a tad sharper, but you can definitely see it:

I have a massive red mushroom in my 29g now. It truly has grown to an amazing size, considering there are easily 100 more in the tank. See for yourself, and compare it to the Flame Angel and the 4" Maxima. Maybe if it was in a 125g, it wouldn't be so impressive, but it looks like it is trying to match my BTA now. :D

That mushroom measures 5.25" across the disc.

Mach:

Is this the same mushrooms as the one above with the eyes. That one looks like red with blue dots. If it is they are the most prolific mushrooms I also have. We also had one we called elephant face with eyes a trunk and big ears. I say had because it moved and left four mushrooms in its place. I have these guys loose all over the bottom plus a rock covered with 30-40 small ones.

The mushroom with the two "eyes" would be just to the right of the mushroom you see on the edge of the picture above. The big one next to the "eyes" mushroom is the semi large one you can see in the Massive Mushroom picture.

And when all of them are fluffed up fully, the "eyes" mushroom is hard to locate!

They do have blue dots on them, but they aren't easily seen except at certain times and at certain angles. And grow they do!

I'm probably going to have to start poking certain ones with copper wire to reduce the population, because it is getting out of hand.

Plus my xenias are spreading onto the intake screen of my MaxiJet 1200 that pumps to my Remora Skimmer. Soon I won't be able to do a thing in that tank, as the reeflings take over! :D

Mach:

Not the greatest pic but this is elephant face. Just setup a 58 gal last week so will have a lot room for all the loose reds I have. Plan on gluing them to one rock. All the big mushrooms moved off this pic rock and each left 3 or 4 babies.

Hey, I like your elephant mushroom. It does look like one.

I find that putting a mushroom where I want it, I just cover the guy with a piece of netting, and secure it to the rockwork with rubberbands. After 3 days, the mushrooms are attached and I can take the netting away. You might find that to be a better system than glue, since gluing softies is always tough due to the slippery slime.

Mach:

These guys have all attached substrate to there foot. When they do that I don't know if vail will work. I do know gel super glue works with no problem just don't get the glue on the softie. Has worked for me on leathers ricordias and other shrooms no problem. Lets you put the softie right where you want it.

Good point. Hey, how come you keep calling me "Mach"? I feel like a jet fighter. Just call me Marc or Melev. ;)

Marc:

Oops sorry about the name. I'm old or old fool as my wife says I see things my way and not how they really are. Gee sometimes she could be right.

I am with Darren on that one. A really rare anemone. What kind of lighting do you use to keep that one red on the top?

THE FAHZ

Only the best breeding has gone into him. Performs well under all kinds of lighting. Have only two and will no sell or trade them. Eat your hearts out. But I will say since you are both in love with Ricordias you have a good eye for fine things.
