Malla, that's a really cool rock! Is it just one large single piece?

Actually it's two big rocks, and a bunch of small ones for support. K9, your thread was the inspiration for me to get a new tank and drill it, just like the VHOs. I hope mine can eventually look as good as yours.

Mine is hardly what you would call a "textbook tank" or a "good looking tank" at that. It's actually more of a "work in progress", but thanks so much for the compliments. :D Best of luck with your new setup and I hope you like the VHOs!

Wow, I really like the new tanks.

Brain5280- Is that some sort of SPS on the far right rock? If so, that is an amazing piece. What are the specs of you tank?

Foolishlat- Your off to a great start, nano tanks are a whole different type of tank from what most people are used to. What kind of filtration are you running on that?

Brad-DA- Is that an overflow I see in the left corner? If so, what are you running as the return and we need more specs.

Keep the pics and comments comming guyes. Post specs about your tank when you post it, it helps=-)

Everyone looks great!

Wow, almost 20000 views. Thats a lot of people, I didnt know this thread was going to become this big. But I like it=-)

I hope someone has learned something from this thead, I know I have.

I don't have any sps. If you are talking about the purple stuff, it's just coraline on a really bumpy rock.

tank specs are:
Nearly stock 12g Nano Cube DX. The only mod is the piece of plastic over the inlet to create a surface skimmer. In the back chambers I have a wad of filter floss that I change weekly, a heater and the origional pump. I also put an extra pump in the display area for more circulation.

Well, as far as filtration goes, there's the LR and DSB (used seeded Utah Oolitic Sand, I love being able to get the stuff for free!) :D I also have a 2.5 gal HOB refugium, which is where I keep the heater and a bag of carbon, when I run it. Oh, and polyfilters too.

Other specs: 12 gallon eclipse, 96 watt powerquad stuffed in the hood, moonlight... add a couple of extra rios for flow and that's about it.

out of all the tanks ive seen here, most are using sand instead of cc. And is it just me or the water looks way more clear with the people who has sand. i have cc and i could never get my water to look clear, there are always stuff floating around. should i switch. more pic please:)

cc is one of the biggest dirt traps you can create in an aquarium, and has no place in any reef tank ;)
