Brandon, I'm just amazed at your fortitude.

I can completely understand what you mean about nematocyst soup. Even in my 75 I have a 30 head Torch that touches my football size leather with no ill effects. I've got some Kenya trees that touch a Mycedium (my avatar), also with no ill effects. My Hammer on the other hand is a bit more aggressive. He didn't seem to like my Pink Birds Nest.

All in all though there seems to be a balance.

Thanks for all your detailed posts. I find them fascinating.

I like your bare-bottom look! I think that tank will look awesome when it's stocked with more SPS and other colorful items as time goes by. The central rock-work allows for plenty of swimming space for fish, something I miss out on in my small aquariums. I can tell it's drilled from the bottom? Cool design for sure, wish it was mine!

thanks, yes it's drilled, one closed loop with heater and another one with canister filter (live rock and zeolithe) 750 gph.

The first one was not very practical, IMO, so this is the one for now. I thought the other one was too high, so this one is a little better in that regard.

Why is being high in the water and lots of places for fish to hide/swim under not practical? It didn't give you as much top area for corals but it gives you height differences that might come in handy for high light requirement corals. Just wanted to tell ya my opinion I really liked the look of the first try... as long as it was stable.

I agree that the first one did give me a lot of room for fish to hide, but it was not too stable. There really wasn't anywhere to put corals because it was very steep. Maybe 1 or 2 places had level ground, so to speak. I will probably end up redoing the aquascaping again, and hopefully I will like it better.
 
Nice larry, I like how you were able to keep the small tank nice and open, and you can really see the depth of the cube with the way you set up the rock. Very nice zoos as well.
