Who's up for a meeting this month?

We could meet on next Friday, the 8th (2nd Friday of the month) at 7pm at Union Hotel Pizza in Santa Rosa.

We could meet some other place at some other time.

We could become some sort of virtual club that never actually meets and just whines about our reefs on the forum.

What would YOU like to do?

I could possibly squeeze in a meeting on that evening, though as always, the second weekend of the month is the usually the only time of the month that is tough for me with regards to having time for a meeting...

Would love to meet again SOMETIME though

And, for the record, I'm afraid that I'm about to lose two acro frags that must've gotten too stressed out in the recent heat (nope - no chiller... yet). Other than that, I'm happy with my tank these days - and I'm just lovin' my Baby's Breath Favia that I got a little over a month ago... very cool coral in terms of color scheme!

I'd like to suggest a topic for discussion. The relationship between alk, ph ,ca and mag as they relate to each other and the balance you need to achieve with them to keep sps especially.

another topic or demo could be proper dipping procedures although this might be better at someones house. I suggest as recently there have been a lot of pest issues with incoming corals. Just a thought Grant

I love the fact that we are trying to meet again. I miss the knowledge and friendship of the club. That being said I am heading to the Sierra for a last fishing trip.( hey at least it is fish related) :rolleye1:

My update is tanks still waiting for the nudis to go away main reef still has montis and activity has slowed. Other tank no montis and should be free by December. Wierd as I haven't added anything in months but have 2 small aptasias out of nowhere. I need to get some Joes Juice and get them now.

My pond has water and I am excited! I will post photos soon and a small build thread slide?ideo to see on youtube when I get some time. Only a few small emergencies when I was finishing and lots of rock moving. It will be a few months before I am truely finished. A lot of work and planning but fun.

If you don't meet on that weekend I will be back Saturday.

I like the idea of the alk, ca, mag talk. However, that would necessitate someone to speak with knowledge and authority about it. I can talk about what levels are necessary but can't tell you how they interact on a molecular level or what the negative metabolic consequences of extreme levels (too little or too much) of them are.

As always though, if someone were to point me in the direction of an "expert", I'd be happy to contact them and see if they'd be willing to come bestow some of their wisdom on us.

I could do a chat on making alk, ca and mag supplements ("b-ionic") at home if people are interested. I have recipe sheets I could distribute and run through the procedures. While it may seem daunting at first, it's really very easy and if you can measure, heat water and stir you'll do great. And it saves money over buying ready to add supplements.

i think thats an excellent idea ken, a lot of the people in the club now weren't around when jeff and mike did the presentation.......speaking of the devils, i sure do miss those guys!

Mike took down his tank last week and gave me a lokani coral from his tank. I missed those guys too.

I like to go to one of the meeting so I'll try but their's no guarantee. My spa is getting very busy so I have to run the front desk (manager by day and receptionist by night )

Not trying to tread jack. Hey guys and girls. I thought I would send out a invite to the club. On Sat Oct. 9 I am putting on a big BBQ at my shop. 930 Shiloh road #53 Windsor. It will be a totaly free event with a drawing to win free oil changes for a year. Should be a lot of fun and really good food. We will be having smoked ribs, pulled pork, chicken, And so on. The time is from 11Am to 3 Pm. So if you all dont have any thing to do come check us out and have a great lunch.

I don't know about you guys but for the attempted threadjacking Dale needs to come to the meeting and buy the first round and THEN we may be able to send some reps to the gathering at his shop, what do you folks think???

Ouch Grant. How about you all come to my bbq and I buy you all lunch! As far as coming to the meeting I would love to as long as it is not on Friday night. My son is playing football for Santa Rosa High. And I wont be missing his games for anything!
