Levamisole In-Tank Treatment for AEFW

DrHarry

I have found eggs on the bottom of frag plugs. If they are there they can be on LR or anywhere!

I have found eggs on the rock near acros. On the middle of the acro (where tissue was already eaten).

I don't think that the eggs are "base only".

When I read that description of Ascaridil, it seems to me that the fuorouracil is administered seperately by intravenous injection. Is that correct? If so, I don't think it is in the Ascaridil itself, and the Ascaridil may be yet another version of Levamisole HCL.

How do you read that?

I agree with you, Bax...Ascaridil seems like another version of Levamisole, but for human instead of animal....Maybe the purity of this ascaridil is better since it is used for human...

Well, if Ascaridil is marketed for humans, then it's probably not available OTC and it's probably way more expensive too.

Fluorouracil is available in diff percentages. The cream is only 0.05%
the injectable is 50mg/ml I'm gonna try to get my hands on it. If I do I'll set up at test reef.

That would be interesting if any one has as the literature available says that will not happen.

I have the scientific journal that i previously mentioned published march 2011 which states that ALL the afew eggs they found were only on coral skeletons.

it seems this is tough to find.
does anyone have any they can sell me?

I have seen eggs on a plastic frag plugs from my own system.

Indeed, they will even go deep into the rock, actually. I have wiped out this creatures in the past.

I observed some rock that I pulled out of my system...busted it open. These rocks had 1/2" holes drilled through them, I used vinyl driveway marker rods to secure the rock together...

Naturally, there was a tiny space between the rock and vinyl rod. This space was coated in AEFW eggs. I couldn't believe it.

This hole was right next to a millie that had a very bad infestation of AEFW.

For what it's worth, I got rid of them the old fashioned way, putting all acros in a stock tank and dipped regularly.

I am alost finished with my first treatment and its been 5 hours.
I have 5 cardinals and they are having fun eating the AEFW every time I blow the rocks off. I did catch one with my baster and put it in a cup of fresh water and so far he is seems to be dead.
I am using Prohibit.
