Levamisole In-Tank Treatment for AEFW

Sorry about your loss, you looked to have some beautiful acros. As the OP of this thread, I really don't recommend this treatment to anyone. The tank I had the AEFW in I ended up breaking down and tossing all acros, I have since upgraded.

James, would you like to write up just a quick precautionary note that I could then copy and paste and edit to the very first post of this thread? That way anybody stumbling upon this thread for the first time will be aware of your findings rather than reading until page ____ . :) Something quick and to the point I could put in big bright letters.

Just a thought.

Yea it sucks, live and learn. On the brighter side, atleast I didn't have to remove everything just all the acros. All but one, the eydouxi. I plan on running acro less for a couple of months just to be sure I've choked out any remaining aefw. I have since moved everything downstairs to the frag flats and just sold my display. I plan on doing a new main display tank, a 300g DD Starphire. And for sure, Bayer dip everything!

Did you do 5 rounds of dosing before you had an issue? Were you seeing them come off each time, or was the 5th dose sort of for good measure?

Sorry about your loss.

I feel your pain. It took me longer to recover then my tank.

I bought a bonsai plant as a part of my rehab:hmm5:

I only did 4 treatments. I saw them come off the 1st & 2nd time not the 3rd & 4th time. I figured I'd quit after the fourth treatment because everything was going great. I'm still very lucky that all my fish & inverts made it and my system is back to 100%. The Pocillopora eydouxi is totally unaffected, weird. My total system is still running downstairs, just minus my 140g display that I sold last week. I just got my new 300g DD into place and will be connecting that in soon. Insane footprint to work with!

Hey guys anyone heard of this ZeoVit Flatworm Stop?

"They claim:
Flatworm Stop strengthens all kind of corals and reduces parasitical flatworms on Acropora corals at the same time. Very valuable ingredients are assimilated directly after dosage. In our tests also ailing small polyp stony corals recovered and rebuilt the basis as well as gained back the original coloration.

Dosage: 1 ml per 100 Liter tank water. Dose directly into the tank. For ailing corals dosage can be increased to double or triple.

Well,R I thought I'd chime in with another update from my experience with this Levamisole treatment using Prohibit. As of today zero aefw noticed, I've been turkey basting every other day. My Ice Tort, hellfire table, ultimate blue stag, & banana lokani that were the worst infested have all healed and are recovering nicely. Fish & inverts look business as usual too. Tomorrow I will be performing my 4th dose, it will be an increase to 11g of Prohibit. Keeping my fingers crossed!
