I'm looking to buy a scolymia either from a fellow reefer in the east bay or at one of the lfs (Neptune, Diablo, Aquatic Collection, etc.) Does anyone know if they have good colorful ones in stock somewhere?
Whoops, yeah meant to say scolymia! I haven't been in a while so I wasn't sure if they have them readily available. Do you know how much they usually charge for one??
They are a "dead-end" coral. They have only one big mouth. You can't really frag and propagate them.
The more colorful the price increases.
You'll see some beautiful scolys at Neptune Aquatics in San Jose and Aquatic Collection in Hayward. They're usually around 120 to 200$ at Cali Reef Co in fremont. I think Diablo Corals in Concord has them too.
@650-IS350 Yeah you can frag scolys and they'll survive. Ive even heard of people fragging bleeding apple scolys and glueing them to a fragged war paint scoly.
But as far as fragging them for propagation. Not usually something people do lol
