Lfs in so cal

Any good reef shops in or around chino hills area i have a buddy who says he wants a tank i want to send him somewhere he will catch the bug. Somewhere that displays all the toys and has a good display

Mike at Socaltropicalfish/Sexycorals in Fullerton will definitely give him the reef bug. I have been going there for almost two yrs and can't get enough of it. He will see corals there that he will never see anywhere else.

Age of Aquarium in Signal Hill. Great shop knowledgeable people and good selections. They will order whatever you want.

Medusa update:

Some stock in the SW holding tank; maybe 50 or so fish and inverts. One of the two frag tanks is empty, the other one has lots of softies/lps. And there is one stocked display: an 8g nano.

FW seems pretty full. Koi too.

I'm having trouble locating a great LFS in the central LA area. All the places I've been to are okay, at best. Good shops on the west side, and up in the valley. But central LA? Nada.

hey guys.. I'm looking for a decent shop to pick up my first fish! Any shop around Walnut/Diamond Bar/Chino/Rowland??? anywhere around that area really.. Don't mind if the owner try to pressure sale.. Just looking for a good healthy variety of fish.

I've been going to Tang (Brea Tropical Fish). The owner is nice and everything, but he sold me a bunch of crap when I didn't know anything. I don't want to support his shop anymore.

7 Seas in San Pedro. If you are into designer clowns they have Frostbites, Wyoming and Midnights for $60 each. Many of them are mislabeled but if you know what you are looking for you can come out a winner.

Have to admit, this store really turned itself around these last few years. Owner has been less pushy lol. Was really bad at some point but worth a looks these days

Anyone ever go to Oceans in Mission Viejo? I went there the other day and was pretty discouraged with the current state of the store. Seemed as one frag tank was down and there was boxes/trash all in one corner.

hey, has anybody heard of a guy in compton named jason, he sells out of his garage and has some amazing deals but i lost his contact info:(

What good shops on the west side?

So I saw your list earlier and it's pretty accurate. I would like to offer some corrections though.

Allan's on Lincoln does have a small SW collection. I don't remember seeing any Corals though. The fish they have seem to be OK but I'm fairly new at this so don't quote me.

Medusa has some corals but I've not been impressed with their SW stock.

Apex Aquarium (Sepulveda and Braddock/Culver blvd)... From Deuce Biggalo fame has some corals and SW fish. Selection is 'Ok'.

I went to Nature Aquarium last week and their selection was definitely better than the other stores mentioned. But still mostly FW.

People have good things to say about the Aquarium (Culver City) but I haven't been there in over five years.

Hmm... Can't seem to edit my last post. Checked out the Aquarium in Culver City and it's much better than the other West LA stores. Neat selection of Corals for those that are looking as well as a nice variety of fish. Some Sustainable Aquatics Clowns too I believe.
