...Amazing Aquariums and Reefs/Ali's is a great store and Ali is very knowledgeable and is not out just to take your money. He doesn't have a ton of fish, but his coral selection is good.

+1
Ali's shop (Amazing Aquariums and Reefs) is very cool, and clean, and he has been a huge help for me as I am getting started.

I read on yelp, it is the Apple Store of coral shops...I'd say that's true.

I love going to this store. Ali is laid back, simple setup, and unbelievable selection of high end corals. I got to win the Lotto someday soon.

Coral Collection in Westmisnter..(16515 Magnolia St, Westminster, CA 92683
(714) 842-7334 )..(down the street from Tong in FV) is open up to the public but not fully stocked yet. The owners Mark and Matt are cool guys and have given me some great deals on corals and fish

In case anyone is interested, their new reef setup features 6 AI LED fixtures and 4 ATI Sunpower fixtures. I know alot of people are constantly on the fence debating between these 2 fixtures. They have various SPS, LPS and softies under each of these lights so its a pretty neat comparison and not often that you can see both fixtures side by side and even see how the same coral colors up differently under each light.

Man I haven't been to Jim's in forever. I'll have to stop by when I'm in the area.

I dropped by this store Coral Collection when it was first opened last week, and the owners are great. I bought a few snails, zoas and ricordias from these guys, and the everything is doing great. Most stores will just blow you off if you ask for something not in the store, but these guys are good at following up with you if you are looking for something specific.

They are not fully stocked yet, but once they are stocked, it's a great store in the making. They provide a much needed $$$ relief from that store down the street.

+1 nice clean store, helpful owner

I dropped by Coral Collection today. Very cool owner/s. They are still stocking up, but the fish they had were very healthy and great prices.

I hope they take off, I can see them very popular. I'm definitely adding their store to my rotation.

Stopped by Coral Collection the other day and they had a good collection of fish for a small store. Owner stated that they are trying to stock only reef fishes. I would rather support them than Tong's.

Was at Jims Exotic the other day, they added AI lights and ecoxotic LED's for their reef section it looks amazing! definitely worth checking out. they also had some aquacultured elegance, which was pretty sweet.

The Tropical Reef in Rancho Cucamonga

I finally got a chance to stop by today and the shop is looking great. It has an awesome "surf" theme, and the overall vibe is nice/clean. There is a pretty large selection of drygoods (Brightwell, BRS, Kent, etc...), as well as a good sized coral selection.
They have three large frag tanks full of sps, lps, zoas, and anemones. There is also a very large fish display section with a nice variety (clowns, wrasses, triggers, angels, etc...).
They also have NSW/RO for sale, as well as a good selection of salts.

I went today to buy some salt and look at fish. I heard that they had Sunburst Fathead Anthias in stock for under $40 - but they were all sold when I got there, so I ended up just grabbing a 5g bucket of RedSea Coral Pro.

I just wanted to give a heads up to any locals who haven't stopped by yet - it is an up and coming shop, and it is well worth the trip.

Anyone stopped by yet?

Aquatic Dreamz in El Monte

Came across this place while on my daily walk about 2 months ago, and found that it somewhat small and tanks not super stocked, but the Mike makes up with it by offering his customers good pricing on all livestock, dry goods and equipment.

So if you have any special order needs stop by his shop and see what he can do for you. he said mention ReefCentral for an extra %15 off his prices.

4200 Peck Rd
Ste D
El Monte, CA 91732
(626) 448-8237

I do not work for him just passing the word for him, just passing the word along. In the past 2 months i have been shopping there i have found a new friend and a fellow hobbyist that you can chat with anything about saltwater or freshwater.

Tropical Reef in Rancho Cucamonga is a great new store- just wanted to add another A+.

I appreciate when a store won't sell you stuff you shouldn't have- tang in a nano tank, venomous catfish, cold water snail, etc

GREAT prices on frags- excellent variety. Fish have lots of room which is so nice to see.

Excellent dry good selection, and best of all: premade saltwater (NOT dirty ocean water) and RO at great rates!

Highly recommended! Between Rochester and Day Creek on Foothill

I've been hitting up Coral Gazers in Santa Ana frequently now that I have a client in the area. The place always looks like a work in progress, but they've got tons of frags/colonies for reasonable prices and Chad's a good guy.
