I was just at reef lounge USA in anaheim over the weekend, nice shop, clean, plenty of stock, good prices and customer service.
Looks like it's about 17 miles from you.

Jims exotic fish is decent, friendly staff, they bumped up their coral and SW section not too long ago.
Aquatic fantasy in Redondo is nice too, good deals on sps and a fair amount of stock.

Man...went to SPS Coral Store today and what a depressing visit. Had lower expectations knowing they had been dealing with issues but no idea it was THAT bad. There entire system has gone bad (apparant bacteria per the employee). Display tank is coral-less. The coral sale tanks are covered in green algae. Only coral for sale are some softies and LPS housed in a 38 gal Nuvo.
However, the dry good stock was very impressive and worth the visit if needing high quality equip or supplements.
Glad I did not make the drive from LB just for the visit. Was in the area golfing so it was an easy detour. Sad state of affairs. Wish them a speedy recovery. Will be back when things improve.

The best and only one shut down about 1 yr ago. Man I miss Aquarium In Motion and how helpful Jason was. Word on street is they are looking to reopen again.
It's decent with some good variety. He also takes special orders for corals/fish he doesn't have in stock if I remember correctly.
Hello - Any reccommendations for stores with nice coral frag selections in or about the Glendale area? Will be coming down from the bay area this weekend and was going to check out SPS Coral Store but thanks for the heads up from bnaef17. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

He has a decent selection, but if you are looking for coral I would go to The Mystic Reef.
How is Age of Aquariums in LB in terms of coral selection, fish selection/health, and overall customer service?
Every time I've gone into Seaside Aquariums in HB I get ignored. Went in today after picking my daughter up from school to get some corals, fish, and inverts and was blatantly ignored. After trying to get someone to take a break from scrubbing algae or yakking on the phone for nearly 20 minutes I decided, 'Ok then...I'll just get some frozen food and wait by the counter to check out'. Again, ignored even as employees walked right past me. After another five minutes at the counter I just walked out.
Not sure why the aquarium hobby suffers so much in the customer service department (at least local to me).

I would've placed another 10 items on the counter ... before I walked out! Let them think they lost a really big order!

I live in Buena Park, and work in Garden Grove, and I'm looking for a Greenbanded Goby and I can't find it at Tong's, Seaside, and all LFS. Tong's was a bad place to buy fish. Got a McCosker's wrasse there and it dies after 4 days while all other fishes in my tank is alive and well. If anyone knows of a better LFS around my area, please let me know. Possible a place where I can get a Greenbanded Goby will be super great.

Send him down to see Ali at Amazing Reefs and Aquariums in Orange. Not too far from Chino Hills and his shop has several great display tanks. If Ali's shop doesn't spark his interest then there's no hope for him
