LightRoom 3 -- Half Price

^ completely agree.

PS is a powerful tool, but LR is the meat and potatoes. There is no workflow to PS you're just turned lose in this environment where you can do anything you want :) LR gives you a workflow and makes the task of processing photos so much faster and easier.

Do it now Recty, while it's on sale. LR is one of those things that make you say "why didn't I get it sooner??" I cannot live without it.

I don't know about that, but you might look into the Educational License options. If you qualify you can get some really good deals on Adobe products!

I wondered about that. I attend an accredited Bible college, don't know if this qualifies or not. How can you find out before spending the money?

TIA

You can email their educational department, they are usually pretty quick on the response. They will also actually answer the phone too!

The requirements are here

Thanks Grant. I noticed that too.

Freakin PS CS4 doesn't understand the cr2 files from my new S95 p&s! CS4 maxes out at camera raw 5.7 and the camera uses 6.3. Adobe's answer: upgrade!

I'm not shelling out for PhotoShop again. So this might be when I move to LR from PS.

In the mean time, I convert my 6.3 .cr2's to .dng's and CS4 opens those fine. One can even embed the original cr2 in the dng.

Oh, I also saw LightRoom at Staples today for like $79 or $89. However it was the student edition and had a sticker on the box that said proof of eligibility is required AFTER purchase.
