Lightsluvr's 340G Upgrade

Sorry, I misunderstood the problem. I didn't realize you were talking about the frag lights. I though you were talking about the DT lights.

Have you tried the heavy duty drawer roller rails?

Did the fish come in today????

It seems like Don the 10" Vlamingi Tang is smarter than the average fish... He figured out that the net in his (old) tank was trying to snag HIM... so now he ducks and covers whenever he sees it...

The donor will try again today and we'll see how it goes...

;)

Have you tried the heavy duty drawer roller rails?

I looked into the drawer rails, but they were too wide to fit between the support "L" and the light frame...only about 1/4" clearance on each side.
Fortunately this is a lightweight system and easy to slide back and forth in the unlikely event that is necessary...

Thanks for taking the time to give me a tour. The fish room was great, very well thought out. Beautiful display tank!

Don Corelone...

Don Corelone...

The "Don" arrived!
Don01.jpg

He was coaxed out of hiding by the offer of a whole table shrimp! He was acclimated to our water slowly - cup by cup for about 30 minutes:

He passed the obligatory cat inspection test:

And into the tank he went with a splash that was heard around the room!

At first he looked a little miffed, but asserted himself in the tank and explored his new digs...

Just how big is "the Don"? Here he is swimming in our 8 foot wide tank:

Yeah, he's pan-size! :D

He went through a sheet of Nori like it was a snack...(because it was).
We are looking forward to our fish friend. When he outgrows our tank, we will donate him to the Oklahoma Aquarium... http://www.okaquarium.org/

Tank looks empty without him George, we really hope you guys enjoy him as much as we did!

We already are...I love that he likes to cruise the front and upper third of the tank... We will take good care on him!

Holy Cow! That's one big fish! Think I can get one for my Biocube? :)
He could probably eat the biocube for lunch, then he'd be a "box-fish"!

Sweet,

How is everybody reacting to the new kid on the block?

The "Don" is making offers no one can refuse... ;)

Actually, the DesJardins Sailfin came out to defend her cave, but turns out it was too small for the "Don" anyway. He slept between a rock and a hard place (right side of the tank) last night... I turned all lights off for several hours...as soon as I turned on the moonlights, he started swimming back and forth the length of the tank. His new home is 2 feet longer and a foot wider than his previous digs...

I will be increasing the food disbursal for a while until I figure out how much needs to be fed. I will be using SureGrip magnets to hold sheets of Nori to the side of the tank.

Both the frag tank lighting and the new addition to the tank looks great!

I was just over on your thread admiring Sunday's work! Good job!

That's one of my favorites of Greg's fish. Good to see that He's gonna have a nice big new home.
