Lightsluvr's 340G Upgrade

if you are trying to get rid of your duncans,I will take them. How much do u want for them?

What made you think I was trying to get rid of my Duncan colonies? ;)

I grew both of them from single heads...I think I'll keep them for a while... :hmm6:

I do have a few cats I might sell... (just kidding, Ms. LL) :love1:

Thanks Leonardo.

We try to keep the cats out of the saltwater, if possible. Our little white Flamepoint Siamese did take a SW bath one day when we were setting up the tank.

He was curious as usual and was walking around the top of the tank...The euro-bracing was wet; he slipped and into the tank he went... I didn't know that cats could walk on water until that incident! :bounce1:

We put one of their "condos" (a climbing and scratching post about 6 feet tall) next to the tank and they rest up there for hours following the fishes' activities... they get very stimulated by all the movement...

George, Fantastic build thread. I couldn't help but notice the LifeReef CaRx. I LOVE mine. I have had 5 reacotrs over the years and Jeff's is by far the best I have owned. I noticed you are using a uniweld regulator. I have been thru my share of regulators as well. When it comes time to replace that dinosaur, get a Milwaukee MA957. it was well priced and has the most precise eedle valve i have ever used. and it is built like a tank. I've had M3's, uniwelds, knop engineering.... the Milwaukee is the best so far....

I've had three of them myself. My next one will be from AquariumPlants.com - I contacted that seller to see if he can get me a new solenoid, but if he can't, I'll just order from AP instead. It comes with a 3 year warranty.

The Uniweld regulator came with the LRC-2 Reactor. It works okay as far as I can tell. (Holds pressure stable, releases bubbles steadily). I'll take advice if and when I need to replace...

My ALK has risen to 11.2 while Calcium is holding around 400-420. Any suggestions on bringing the ALK down while maintaining the calcium levels?

Just kiddin, of course.

Ironically, you know somewhere people really are eating them.

Was talking to a buddy of mine who was traveling in the South Pacific, I guess a lot of ornamental fish are common delicacies.

I know what you mean - when Ms. LL and I traveled the South Pacific for our honeymoon, we were shocked to see natives in Palau harvesting the giant clams for food. We're talking clams 3 to 5' across, with meat heavy enough that it took two men to carry. Heck of a Derasa!

George, Just got caught up on your thread again. Sorry to hear about the SPS loss hopefully you've got it figured out and it doesn't spread. Keep the posts and pictures coming.

Thanks Dan... parallel paths, eh? SPS can be so frustrating. Fish, too.
