Lionfish diet?

Has anyone everr had a Volitan Lion ever switch over to pellet food? I ask because I have a ton of New Life Spectrum pellet left over from my recently downsized african cichlid collection, and with it being so pricey I would hate for it to go to waste.

I would have real doubts about a lion going for the pellets unless they were the size of chickpeas/garbanzo beans, at least if the volitans is full grown. Some folks have gotten lions to eat pellets, but below a certain size of offered food, my volitans just don't consider something worth its while to try to eat.

IMO, SW fish need SW foods. If your pellets were for African cichlids, they are probably veggie based; Volitans are carnivores. (not that some concessional greens will hurt) Also, I think the main ingredient in NLS SW pellets is krill; which have been linked to lockjaw in lions. Volitans can be trained to eat pieces of SW fish, shrimp, scallop, etc., from the grocery store. Very inexpensive staple foods. They need vitamins, like Selcon, too.
