LOL at the Superman Monti Colony on Ebay

Got to see it to believe it. I didn't know the Superman Monti had brown polyps and a wash out blue base.
I have gotten a few small frags claiming to be Superman Monti's, but after letting them sit in your tank for a few weeks, they will turn brown. Of all the frags I got, 2 are actual authentic that came from a good source. Those will stay true to the color as advertise.

I saw that too... I thought that the guy was claiming that the piece for sale came from the "mother colony" that had good coloring in his ad. I was suspicious as well.

I doubt the guy is going to lie. I've talked to quite a few people who can vouch for this seller. He is actually a vendor on another site. I'll admit that I'm confused by the actual listing but if you had any issues, he would take care of it.

uhh,
many montis especially WILD ones go brown for some time, and then jump back to normal color.
The seller (miguel) is a super honest person, and would not lie or misrepresent his corals.
ive done business with him and he has A++ feedback on the "vendor Feedback" forum.

maybe you should learn a lil something bfore you go out and make accusations, or maybe your pieces just browned out cause you have poor water quality, who know?

Although I was aware of this thread from the start, I had explained in the linked thread how wild montis sometimes lose their color. The thread had dropped and I'd figured no response was necessary, now that it has been continually brought up through email from various customers of ours that the thread has been bumped, I'd like to come on and say that we put customer service and integrity well before any financial gains of Fraggle Reef, as 100% of our customers would be happy to tell you, feel free to check the feedback forums here to see what many have had to say, and if you have any questions, do feel free to email us, or pm me on here. We fully stand by our corals, and would rather lose money and still have full customer satisfaction, than make a single penny from an unsatisfied customer

the other thread that was made was closed because of the debate that followed. these types of threads usually don't have any positive outcome, they usually result in a lot of nasty things being said, people getting banned, etc.

the guy that started this thread is the one that got the other thread shut down (i think he was just a trouble maker).... miguel is an a ok guy and unlike the other ebayer he has never proven himself to be shady so he does not deserve this attention. he even went as far as to relist this monti as it looks not what it might look like. good job and i am sorry i ever mentioned the monti auction. the original posting stands as a warning to newbie reefers that might take that original pic (super saturated blasto) at face value.

i don't know why it got closed? But I think it was a good dicussion of how ebay memebers can hold you hostage even when you do the correct thing. I will give you a specific example because it was reef related and people buy from him

I bought snails from aaronssales. I paid him imediately. Contacted him many times. Never a response. After 2 weeks I wrote a last email asking for my money back and left bad feedback. Now I had done nothing wrong. Tried to contact many times.

he wrote back"BEWARE!!! YOU LIED, DONOT BUY FROM THIS GUY!!!! A VERY DISHONEST EBAYER! BEWARE!" I have not had one bad feedback in years. That fool dropped my rating to 92% for no reason. I was not dishonest or a lier? I wanted what I had paid for or my money back.

And for all who do buy from him research his snails they are cold water and will not live long in your reef anyhow!

so in conclusion honest people can have fair ratings and scumbags can have good ones by setting up lots of little bs auctions and giving themeselves good feedback to make the truth pages back and hard to find. It is not a perfect system

I just looked aaronssales has 23 negative in the last 12 months and a rating of 98. I had 1 from him and have gone to 92%

Here is mine I got from fragglereef. Got it the same day as calvin415. We did a shared order.

Under T5 blue plus and VHO actinics. Looks a bit pale with MH on.

I personally think if you haven't ordered there or have no actual proof, stuff like this should be posted. All it does is slander someone who doesn't deserve it.

I would think out of all the posters on here, us sps lovers would be more understanding on color. Many have gotten pieces that have browned up, changed color, or whatever for a few weeks or even months. Just because a monti is brown doesn't mean it isn't the right one. Notice the poster moved on?

this thread CRACKS ME UP!!!!!!!(he said he got it from the wild its not from the original)that is one of the most retarded things ive ever heard!were did the original come from??id say probably the ocean.i own a lfs and just so you guys know how this works corals dont always come in fully colored up.also just so you understand most if not all of the l.e. corals are coming in all of the time from wholesalers.last month i got a ok looking monty it had a little blue on it mostly brown but i just gave it some time and know its a killer rainbow monty?ive also received 3 full colonys of superman that were brown ive sold some of the frags of it still brown only for the people to come back with a pic in a month or so of a superman that looks exactly like the original.my point is everyone needs to chill on bashing people before they know what is really going on?if you dont want to buy it dont but until you know for sure DONT OPEN YOUR MOUTH to bash others on these threads!
