Long Tube Anemone stuck in my Maxijet Wavemaker

I just went down and checked on my tank, and my anemone must of decided it wanted to move. Somehow it got stuck in one of my wavemaker Maxijet things. It was shredded somewhat and now a large peice is stuck through the opening in the cage. I disconnected it and took the cage off. It did not want to be easily pushed back through the cage, so I left it to rest on the bottom. Should I force it back through? Will it work itself out? Break the cage? Is it over for the anemone? I am not a happy man right now. @#$%%^#@**(^%%$#

I checked out my parameters yesterday and everything came up roses,

salinity 1.025
nitrites 0
nitrates 0
ph 8.3
phosphates 0
calcium 390

I was messy around this morning with the lighting, rerouting the wires trying to make it neater behind the tank. So I had the lights on and off for an hour or two. I don't know if this would make any difference.

I had my big anenome get sucked into a mj1200...chewed him up to pieces, but he came back. As long as he still seems sticky, you should be ok.

id say let him go for a couple days if he doesnt move easly dismantal the pump or push him back slowly my lta got stuck in my rock lift had to do surgury as long as you dont do any more damage you got a 50/50 shot a survile good luck

Keep an eye on him for sure though. If his guts start coming out of his mouth, its time to punt and get him the heck out of there. I'd remove the foreign object too, because that worked for me, but I can't promise you the same results.

Oh man, that sucks so bad. Hope things turn around for him and he survives. Did you get any good pictures of it after got it home from Ryan's?

What part was caught in the powerhead? If the foot isn't damaged, there is a good chance that it will recover. But, make sure to cover those powerheads.

For reference, (( this happened a couple of years ago ))

Came home to this,

The update is not good. The damage was too great. The foot was unattached. The mouth was open and spewing and I had to make a decision. I removed the anemone this morning. Sucked

Sorry to hear that. You'll have to talk to Ryan about his cages he built for his powerheads after he got his anemones. They worked really well, I'm sure you probably saw them when you were over there... Good luck when you decide to try another one.

If you are using normal MJs, they sell sponges that cover the intakes, and they work pretty well. Just rinse then out with each water change.

Premium sells them. (( that picture makes them look a lot bigger then they are ))
