looking for parts at a good price

I see your USA site has spare parts, but the price of shipping is very high so I wanted to know if I can get them from a vendor in the US. I do not know who to buy from. All I really need is that plastic screw to attach the propeller for a Tunze 6100 powerhead.

Part: Screw M4x16 black $2

Shipping $12

Not gonna do it.

Are there any type of plastic screws that can be had at the local hardware store that would be safe? Pardon my ignorance.

The orders come to me and the computer quotes shipping from Germany automatically but the real shipping will be from Austin so for one screw you are looking at 60c shipping. Metric screws especially Nylon and these are actually Nylon with graphite fiber are kind of hard to come by. If you have a specialty screw company you might check their but my experience is it is not cheaper for the actual part. When we had a delay in long screws for Oceanic trim I was able to source them locally but they did not have the black anodized coating, they were just stainless steel and they still cost about $1 each even buying a box lot. You'll likely find that they have to special order the screws from Germany but you might call to check.
