Lost most of it....

Yup, my GFCI blew and I lost most of my SPS. The worst part is that I have an ACIII that emails me during the day with status but because it was on a different circuit it didn't let me know.

fish, softies and lps are all fine but I lost the sps towards the top of the tank that weren't submerged.

I'm just hoping the power doesn't go out again.....

that might not dead at all, a little dry but not dead, unless the water drop w/ the lights on then its dead. Just leave it there for a week if U dont see any polyp at all the n U can toos it out.
Good luck man!

sorry to hear about this. How would you do differently to mitigate this risk in the future? May be putting a pump on a non GFCI circuit? I would like to know.

How does a GFCI "blow"?

Also, what do you mean that your ACIII was on a different "circuit"? I plan on getting one mainly for the email alerts and I don't want to have this happen to me (obviously).

BTW: I hope the SPS pull through.

the GFCI blew because i had just hooked up an old chiller and I guess there was either a short or too much load for the circuit. The Acuacontroller didn't alert me because it's plugged in to a different 20amp circuit and since it wasn't actually a power failure it didn't alert me.

Menard, of course the lights were on. Isn't that just the way it goes? i was just starting to get some really noticable good growth too. "Take a step forward, now take a step back. Now we're doing the CHA CHA."

Thx for all your support!
Adam
