Low PH Please help!!!

Hi Guys
So recently i moved my sump into my basement. I switched from aqueon proflex model4 untill which holds roughly about 25 gallons max to a 125G custom sump which holds around 75 Gallons. I used to have my ph at 8.2-8.3 however since i moved my sump to the basement it dropped to 7.75 (today is the first day). Shall i wait to see if the PH will rise slowly. If it does not what are my options of raising it. There is a good amount of flow in the sump as i am using Reeflow pump under barracuda setting. I dose around 50ml kalkwasser at night. Please advise what can i do. All my livestock and corals are doing good.

A basement could certainly have issues (Co2) from lack of proper circulation/fresh air,etc..
While 1 day certainly does not make a trend you might need to look into a fresh air line for your skimmer or a Co2 scrubber for it..
Or some other way to remove/reduce the impact that the C02 levels in the basement seem to be (could be) causing..

Yep sump needs fresh air to properly off-gas the co2 and take in new oxygen. Fans help, open windows if you can, and anything else you can do to get it more fresh air.

The sump is located in my furnace room so there isnt any window however i do have an option of attaching an inline tube to my skimmer's air input...i will do that as well start dosing kalkwasser...

seems like the ph is on the rise. It is now at 7.85 shown on apexfusion and i havent made any changes. i will continue to monitor and see how it goes. Updates to follow.

My tank rarely hits 8.0 and routinely drops to jumbo jet levels .... 7.77. I do run my skimmer line outside, though on my tank it makes very little difference. I also run a fan to circulate outside air through the boiler/sump room controlled both by pH and outside temperature. Dosing Kalk is good, but as long as your Alk is at a good level I would not worry excessively.

Thanks Guys yes if the it stays around 7.85 I wouldn't worry because the sump was just added yesterday. I have added an air stone just incase to see if it makes any difference. I was thinking of taking the airline tube outside but if it stays where it is now I will hold on to it. Thanks once again.

We live in a metal foamed insulation building and I think my ph problems stem from this CO2 factor.

I plan on adding an outside air line also and hope this will fix it.

Would like anyone's comments on the success of raising ph with this fix...

Thanks

Some people are successful with airlines and others aren't. Depending on how much carbon dioxide is in the air, the room might need an impractical amount of flow to raise the pH much.

so to update the ph is hanging around 7.75 - 7.90. I have changed my refugium light cycle to stay on 24hrs to help chaeto and other algaes, increased my kalkwasser dosing from 50ml to 100ml per day which i know is still a little lesser but i want to go slow...fishes and corals are doing ok no problem...checked all my parameters yesterday and they are on the money Ca at 425ppm, Alk at 8.7dKH, Magnesium at 1400ppm and Salinity at 1.025ppm. The boiler room is not located too far from the basement entrance of the house so i will try and run a skimmer intake line and see..

That range should be acceptable. Lots of tanks of the month run around pH 7.8.

Thanks Bertoni that's good to hear...i guess i wont worry much now since the livestock is ok..i have added external air tube to the skimmer's inlet..and that's pretty much it..

PH 7.8 - 8.4 is acceptable range. Mine wiggle around 7.8 - 8.0 most of time. No issue at all.

Thanks guys so yesterday it went further down to 7.45 I have started adding Kalkwasser in my ATO with 1.5 tsp saturation this has brought it up to 7.67 within couple of hrs...so I will go this route and see what happens
