LPS tanks - How much 2 part do you dose?

I'd like to get an idea of how much 2 part is needed daily in an LPS heavy tank.

I'm trying to dial in my doser using Randy's 2-part (recipe #1). I have roughly 70g in system volume (58g display with 20g sump). I moved and went through a big reset, so I'm still trying to dial in my dosages.

I'm keeping:

4 - fist sized pieces of Torch/frogspawn/hammer
1 - 5-6" acan colony
1 - 3" acan colony
1 - 5" fungia
1 - 3" trachy
1 - 6" plating montipora
1 - 20 head candcane

Numbers:

8.3 PH
80 F
7 Alk
400 Calc
1250 Mg

I'm finding that I need to dose 45ml of 2-part daily to keep alk from dropping. Can you give me an idea of how much you need to add to keep your levels up?

Roughly 4x as much alk and 6x ca daily for my 150g sps and lps system via automated dosing. I'm a good candidate for a calcium reactor though I'm enjoying the simplicity of 2 part, well actually 3 part because I dose mag too.

Test and make sure your levels are exactly where you want them.

Wait 5 days and test again then plug the #s into one of the online reef calculators, either

BRS if you're using their product

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/reef-calculator

Or this for most all other products

http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html

take the amount needed to get your levels back to where they should be and divide it by 5(the amount of days it took your levels to drop x amount) and program your dosers to does that amount per day.

ie- your levels are 420 calcium and 9 dkh, after 5 days they drop to 380 and 7.5

In order to get back where you want you need to dose 50ml of both A and B

That means in 5 days you consumed 50ml each of A and B so you know that every day your dosers need to add 10 ml to the tank.

I know when I changed from ESV to BRS using the exact same amount per day my numbers dropped 50% in 4 days. Test Test Test

I'm right on board with you; test, test, test....

I think my concern was more to get a ball park idea, just incase my salifert kits were off for whatever reason, or if I had mixed my solutions all wrong.

Thanks for the input guys
