LTA help needed

A shot in the dark here Capn, I tried an LTA in my tank last year.
Is it possible there is some incompatablity and chemical warfare going on between the two anemones? When I bought my lta and introduced it to the tank it was fine for a cpl of days, then my gbta started to move which it hasnt done in a year and a half. The gbta moved with in 6-10 inches of the lta and that was the time my lta started looking sickly same thing foot went from pink to white etc. I took the nem out quickly and qt'd it but to late it liquified in no time.

very possible----the direction of movement of the lta was always toward the rta and likewise the rta was extending out towards the lta. It was only in the mornings that I found the lta in the far right corner(licking its wounds maybe)
Since I gt'd the lta--it has come back amazingly--the foot is back to the orange colour, and the rta in the tank is not extending anymore.

I would have thought that it was warfare between the pagoda coral and the anenome--they were much closer.

thanks for the info
Scott

To answer you on the sandbed Q, mine is deep, about 6"
I firmly believe either 5-6" or deeper undisturbed, or 1" or shallower vacuumed regularly, no tweeners.
2-3" is a headache.
Back b4 this site my light was weak, and both my nems stayed high on rocks stretching for light, so I would be surprised if sand depth is prob unless there is something unforseen tied to that.
Very well could be chem warfare, I hear about that now and then, maybe even the pagoda did bother it.

thanks for all your help davocean--last month I increased the sand bed to 4 inches(in the open areas). I bring it up another 2 inches tomorrow--that will just about take care of a new bag of argonite:smokin:

Add slowly so critters can keep up, so like 1/2" a week, or like 1" on one half of tank, or something like that.
