LTA in bad shape

I am having nitrate issues in my 40breeder and my LTA is not doing well..
I have a 10g tank setup, just waiting for it to heat..
Tank setup is 10g tank,100watt heater, HOB filter, black box led.
Is anything else needed???

Plan is to move LTA to this tank, leaving him on his rock, no feeding just clean water and light, 5g WC every week..
Does this plan sound ok??
Will I need to medicate him??

He has some bleaching, doesn't open very much, but mouth is fully closed, still has feeding response, and is still sticky and firmly attached....

No pics, I dropped my DSLR the other day.....

I'm curious as to what you mean by not doing well if the mouth is fully closed, is feeding and sticky?

What is the indicator that it's not doing well, just the bleaching?
Also, you say the foot is firmly attached to a rock, which is very unusual for an LTA. They typically bury their foot in a deep sandbed at a rock interface.

These pics show what is happening.. He doesn't open up and is losing color..
I have had him for a year, all this started a few months ago. He looked to be getting better but has taken a turn for the worse..
As for him being on the rock, I guess he didn't get the memo about. Staying on the sand....lol

He is bleached so you got to feed him. Light , without zooxanthellae, will not result in any energy for the anemone.

I put him in hospital tank, gonna start with some mysis shrimp..
He still had a grip on his rock so I just left him on it..

You have minimal ability to process ammonia in that HT so watch that ore else the ammonia will do him in

+1 on watching Ammonia in a non-cycled QT/HT.

I use the Ammonia Badge to keep watch without having to test 2x per day.

Will be doing a WC in the morning, gonna put up some pics in a few..
He is actually starting to deflate in the evening and re-inflate in the morning now..
He is doing good with eating Mysis...

It is strange to see one on rock, usually the only time I see an LTA climb rock is when light is not sufficient.
It really needs quality stable params, decent light, and a fairly deep sand bed to thrive

Mine has never stuck in the sand.
I have found him stuck on the glass, hanging upside down under a rock, hiding in a hole but never buried in the sand...

He is inflating more each day, fed him a piece of shrimp this morning, this photo is about 6 hours later... Next photo will be this weekend

Smaller foods like mysis would most likely be better in aiding towards recovery than shrimp, easier to digest, takes less energy to do so, less stressful

Was out of Mysis, wife brought back brine shrimp instead of Mysis..
The piece was 1mm thick ,,4-5mm dia..
He rolled it in pretty quick though, gonna get some more mysis on the way home in the AM

Ah gotcha, thought you meant whole shrimp, brine is small enough but of course mysis is more nutritious, but at least it's eating

Today's pic... Still eating well...Had to pull the rock and break some off, he was too far down in the crack..

I would try placing a shade screen over it, might be more light than it can handle right now, maybe why it's crawling into rock.
