LTA in bad shape

That is my guess, he was just above half-way to the top in my 40breeder..
I am running 2-175w MH, 7 inches off the surface, PAR around him was 150-175..
My nitrates shot off the scale in it and I am still fighting that...

The hospital tank he is in now, has a blackbox led sitting on top of it, PAR around him is around 200...

Hope he continues to improve! I've got anemone also showing similar signs with closing...as far as bleaching I honestly don't even know if there is a colorization change or what bleaching really looks like. I showed some nitrates in my tank but I also know my alkalinity in tank is high, mag low, calc low, so I'm working on all parameters...

The bleaching your seeing is solely a light issue? Or is that also related to general declined health from "any" parameter...?

Thanks for your help. I'm learning little by little by understanding others issues/problems/solutions for anemones ...coral...everything.

Eric

Look at the first three picture in this post, that shows how mine "bleached"..
I think mine was caused by my nitrate problem, not 100% sure but that is all I can find wrong...

High nitrates affecting my nems was my very first question here and reason for joining this site way back when, so I agree, very probable that is your issue.
Better WC's, skimmer, and a fuge w/ macro reduced mine.

I understand the change now. That's exactly how mine looks. I'm going to recheck my nitrates tomorrow . Has yours improved? I will feed mine the way your feeding . I lowered my lights today too

He is doing about the same as the last pic, got to drop the lights some more..
Gonna get the PAR meter out when I get home in the AM and set them to around 100 PAR..

Checked the par next to him this afternoon around 330pm.. It was 447, also noticed cat hair on the top of the fixture.. Cat is suntanning in the window and moved the knobs, I put a blob of silicone on the edges of the knobs to prevent this..
It took the LTA about 45 minutes to open up after I turned the lights down...
Water change and tank cleaning tomorrow..... Pics to follow..

Moved him to the 125 in the living room, under 2-150w MH about 14" off the water..

Just keep on feeding him. Hope he will recover for you. You can try to do Zooxanthellae transplant if you have another LTA or another anemone.

I think he will pull through, can't get another locally to do a transplant ,only one I can find is a purple one that is to pricey, in my opinion...

You can use a tentacle for zoo from any anemone and probably even a tentacle from say an elegance, Duncan, frogspawn, hammer etc. The zoo is the same no matter what coral or anemone it comes from.

So far so good, showing some improvement.. Still looking for another to do a transplant with, everybody seems to be out of nems

Not much to report, have fed him a few pieces of the condylactis's tentacles, condylactis isn't to thrilled about that, but he will get over it...
Been doing pieces about 5mm long once a week...
Mysis every other day..
No improvement on his coloring..
Upgraded the lights to Kessil A360WE, have been turning them up a little at a time..
He keeps stretching out toward the light so I will keep increasing it slowly...
