So nobody has had a LTA for some time with a good experience to tell? Are LTAs really a bad species to keep?
Mine seems to be fine I feed it twice a week but small amounts of raw shrimp and fish. My ocellaris is hosting it and is a bit rough but not rough enough to kick him out hehe.

Anyone out there that has succesfully kept a LTA?

Here is a pick of my purple tip lta.

I don`t have pics but one of mine I have had for 8 years or so- and a bud had it 5 years before that. As long as they don`t have foot problems from shipping- they tend to do pretty well. IMO they don`t move like BTA- so are a better choice for a reef. They do grow up to 10inches pretty darn fast- but slow down after that. Lower flow, deep sand with liverock to bury next to, and good lighting- and your pretty much good to go!

I've had it for about a year now,it's approximatly 12'' across very sticky and has only moved about 4 or 5'' from it's original spot.

NICE!! this gives some hope =)!!

Its only been in my tank for 3 weeks but it looks fine and haven't noticed any foot problems at all, its currently attached and is eating well!

I had this guy for 5 and half years.
I don't think they are that difficult to keep in an established tank.

Great looking nems!

LTAs can be really good looking...
Im glad to know that u can keep them for a long time in captivity, I believe nems are amazing!

Here's both nems I had in that tank for 5 and a half years, LTA(doreensis) on left and sebae(crispa) on right.
I had to downsize system and nems went w/ it, or I'm sure I'd still have them.

Thanks for the posts!

Those nems really look good and put! Mine is smaller about 2inches at the disc but with all these great pics I hope to keep it happy for a long time! My ocellaris wont leave it alone, it loves it..!

IF it grows like the ones on the last pics Ill have to upgrade to a bigger tank! I currently have a 60gal but lets see how fast it grows!
