Lubricant in Tunze 6100?

Hi!
I just bought a new Tunze stream 6100 and was getting it ready to put in the tank and decided to take the impeller out to have a look in the well---and found an oily feeling substance, presumably lubricant, on the impeller shaft. Is this normal? does it matter? can I put the new pump staight into the tank or should I clean/rinse it first?

Yes, it is 1ml of glycerin 4ml of DI water, it is added as part of the test proceure and to ease initial start up, it is harmless.
