Lumenarc mini reflector Coverage?

I currently have 250watt and 150watt hamilton pendants over my 58 gallon reef. I am thinking about moving the 150 to put it over my nano and putting the 250 in a lumenarc mini reflector. Will this benefit the amount of light, keep it about the same or hurt it. THe ups are less heat, electricity, etc... But I dont know if I will have enough coverage with just one, mainly b/c my aquascaping is two islands off centerd on the sides of the tank. BTW the pendant will be about 6 inches off the water. Another option would be to replace the 150 with a new 250. What do yall think? And if anyone is running 250 in a lumenarc over a 36" long tank can u plse post a pic.

Nice tank!!

Is your tank size a 36 in.? My 40 gal is the same lenght and I was wondering if the picture is of a 36 in. tank with one 150W MH because I am running into the same problem.... Atfer doing some research I found out the MH (depending on the reflector) will light a 2" by 2" area. So with that said you will have 6 in. on each side with out light up to PAR. I am new to this, but this is what I found out so far... Good luck with the nano.

I have a 30x18x24 with a Mini Lumenarc running a 250W 14K AquaConnect bulb. I also have a similar "twin towers" rockscape :)

I can tell you that you will get a lot of shadow with a single light with that rockscape. It may work if you rocks are in a low profile and the reflector is high enough.

thanx for the input guys. Im gonna just keep it like it is for a while and maybe sell the 150 to get a 250 for the other side.

To give you an idea of the coverage area, here is a picture of my 48" long tank with one of the MH's on. It is a 250 watt Reeflux 10k bulb in a Lumenarc mini reflector hanging about 8" from the surface. Quite a bit of coverage!
