Lumix and white balance settings.

How are you guys setting your white balance. I have a new lumix DMC-FZ7 and dont get even close to same quality pictures. It isnt a SLR but is considered to have the best macro setting without going to a SLR. Would love to been able to get a SLR. I have seen people with nicer pictures and have way cheaper cameras. My pictures tend to be really blue and dont get true colors. it also doesnt get good polp pictures. Do i need the extra lens filters?

The only real way to get an accurate color rendition of what you actually see is to set a custom white balance on your camera. Use an 18% grey card and you should get a very accurate white balance that won't appear washed out blue.
