I'm ordering the bulkheads today. I think I'm gonna use Savko.com BUT I'm going to see if they will do a money order. I don't want to use a CC there just due to the CC problems they had quite a few months back

Fax your order in and do the CC over the phone. I believe you can ask for Marvin.

Ok they only have Sched 80 w/ the slip on the inside and Thread on the outside :( That is what I'm trying to get rid of the Thread on the outside. Anyone bought those from savko. Do they have the thread on the outside???

LB:[/] If you are just going off the SAVKO website you will not find everything he carries. Give him a call and tell him what you need. If he doesn't have it, he will get it for you. (At least that's how he dealt with me.)

In fact I am not sure what you mean by slip on the inside and thread on the outside. Perhaps you are talking about which ends have threads for the nut? I know I have installed most of mine with the threads on the inside of my sumps so that they can be removed. For my tank, I installed with the nut on the outside and used a little extra pipe so that if they have to ever be removed, they could be re-used. And I only used slip inside the tank with no glue so the pipes could be re-positioned any time I need to.

You can get RIGID hole saw kit or bits from Home depot.Good for metal, wood plastic.I wanted to know how easy acrylic is to scrath.I am thinking about a tank but was told I have to be very carefull when cleaning the coraline off the front. It scratches very easy. What are your thoughts or anyone else who owns one.I have read some posts where people said they would never buy one again.Seems many people own them

Acrylic scratches much easier than glass !
HOWEVER ... acrylic can be buffed again to perfection !!!

Glass is harder to scratch - but i haven't seen many glass tanks that were older than a year that didn't have any scratches in them ... and you live with the till you, or the tank dies.... they won't come out.

I called them today and in our discussion I was under the assumption that the flange side was slip and the nut side (outside of tank) was threaded inside to accept 1.5" male ends. Maybe I misunderstood. But that is why I didn't order them. I don't want female thread ends on the outside I want slip. I know the nut goes outside I mean inside the actual bulkhead

I know I got a bit confused when I ordered my first shipment and got some that were female threaded but you can shop around and get ones that aren't. Personally I don't like any inside threads because they collect crap!

I'll have to check and get back to you. I am fairly sure I got them from SAVKO, but perhaps not. Also, if you know SAVKO doesn't have them, try Custom Aquatic. I bought a lot from them as well and I see they have S X S 2" Sched. 80 so they probably have all sizes...

tacocat: Those are not S X S but I did buy a lot from US Plastic so a thorough search there would be warranted as well.

Grats on the new Setup Lunch. I have been so busy with school and my son I rarely evercome on RC:( You really stepped it up!

Well A LONG Day! Left home at 7am drove and picked up the tank. Loaded it up, hit one persons house to get a purple monster frag, hit 2 fish stores and Mrs. Lunchbucket was happy she found a fish, drove home. Got home about 10pm. Didn't unload the truck yet but I will tomorrow. I'll post more pics and details but for now here is all you get tonight
