Lyretail Anthias Change

I have three female Lyretail Anthias. One is a lot larger than the other two. Last night I noticed that the large one has grown a large spike at the front of her dorsal fin. I assume this means that she is beginning her transformation to become the dominate male.

Does anyone have experience with this happening?

I cant ever keep them alive more than a week. How do you do it?

Yup, this is normal.

I have had this happen. Spike in the dorsal comes then the red spot on the pectoral fin starts coming in, as it colors up the main body starts to color up male with it.

I've had it happen too. Had a female change to male years ago. Mine never colored up as much as a store bought male, but looked more purple than orange. The spike was first.
