Loving your tank. My tank is almost same dims just two feet shorter. I have some questions. Is your house on a slab? Also those steel plates are those just for the moving or something permanent?

my house sits on concrete and dirt. those steel plates are for moving purpose only. protection against the floor. mostly those hydraulic equipment. heavy metal wheels.

I'm still waiting on my sump. arrives next weekend. I bought the US adapters together with the rollermat.

Yeah I bought the adapters too but they kinda suck, the bulkhead for the emergency drain is cut to 1/2" And the bulkhead for the input takes away the pipe that sits inside the rollermat to disperse the flow. I'm planning on ordering all metric stuff to use all the plumbing the way it was designed, was only gna be about $30 or so

I see. thanks for heads up. I haven't even looked into the designs yet. It'll be one of the last pieces plumbed in, I'll look into the fittings. Do you have issue with output noise? I've been reading some ppl complaining

No output noise, here is how I did mine. The plug at the top is just hand loose, it allows air out but blocks any noise you might hear in the pipe.

The sump is delayed for another week. Bah.. Can't do any plumbing. Taking the time to add more electrical outlets around the room. Drilled some holes for RODI line and bought a Spectrapure Maxcap. also wired a Cat6 cable to the tank for APEX.

some more goodies arrived..

plumbing parts.. wanted white and red tank for years but somehow ended up with all black. Black wall, black tank, black sump, red pipes

4 Seaswirls arrived today

room is starting to get crazy with equipment

so the Gyre 280 standalone unit is still out of order.. this got me thinking about switching to Vortech MP60s. The only pump that won't have any wires inside the tank, which I really dislike.

What do you guys think? 2 Gyre 280s or 5 MP60s. (I know gyre quality)

I also have 4 seaswirls for returns.

2 MP60 on each side and 3 on back wall? over kill?

wow nice pump. I don't like the wiring, but it sure looks powerful. maybe 1 ECM63 will take care of my tank. I'll talk with Dave about this.

Abyzz is the expensive return pump right? I already have enough RD pumps for that. Need some powerheads for flow

That's what I used to think about Abyzz pumps too...expensive return pumps until one member here showed me how he used it for flow and a Red Dragon pump for return. His tank is silent and no excessive hardware for a clean look. I am sure you've done the math on on the cost of 5 MP60s so you might as well look into Abyzz. It's not for everyone but if I were in your shoes it's something I'd definitely look into before pulling the trigger on Gyres or Vortechs.
Just make sure you talk to someone who has experience with them.
