m0nkie's 560gal

This is definitely one of the more baller builds I've seen recently. Seems like you are sparing no expense. What, if you don't mind, is your overall budget for this setup?

Woah Tony. You're not messing around with that beast of a tank and list of equipment. Congrats! Looking forward to seeing it up and running.

Epic move, looks worse than what it is,I took delivery of my 450 and there were just 8 more people than you had.Looking forward to following.

too much... :sad2: I had no intention of upgrading. Went to Unique Corals to buy some reactors and the opportunity just popped up. I planned to get skimmer and pump from Royal Exclusiv because I loved how my DC180 skimmer works. So I figured with those 2 pieces, my budget should be around 10k for everything...

then I decided to upgrade UV size, upgrade ATO, heck then might as well buy the AWC along with ATO.. before you know it, 20k gone.. I have almost all the equipment ready now. Just need to spend a few hundred more on plumbing

I think the only major equipment left is the tank chiller and a split AC for myself. I am looking at a 1.5HP tank chiller. Probably going to be another 3k after the installation

also looking at some future equipment: Minstream, JWelsh's Testers, MOAI robot, etc.

couple more pictures.. going to wake up early to finish the rockscape.. can't decide if this arch should be BIG and center piece or smaller, attached on other rocks.. making a small ~2ft arch for now.

finished look.. made the arch a little too high. now I can't put too much SPS up top.. maybe some montis or encrusting corals..

I considered lowering the arch, but prefer the swim space. when I need the coral space, I have about 1.5ft empty space behind to make some shelf. cover the overflows

m0nkie: I actually like what you've done with the rockwork, it will bring a much needed dimension to your viewers of the tank. I can see that you will enjoy watching the fish swim through the arch in search for food and refuge. Good luck with your build and thanks for sharing. BTW: I'm glad someone made that neighbor move to assist you with the tank delivery - the nerve of some people.....j/k. I can't wait to see the WET photos or videos with the equipment in action.

The only issue I've ever had (on a much smaller scale) with tall rock structures is obstruction of flow. Not something to worry about too much if you have plenty of power heads, etc.

I think my flow should be fine. the 4 sea swirls are running on oversized pump.

I'm currently switching my Gyre 150 to 280s

Looks great ! You can do wonders with emarco .
Have you consider running Triton? .... no water changes !

came across some readings on it, haven't gone that route. I'm setting up a genesis auto water changer. I'm considering sending my water in once in awhile to Triton to see the numbers. Their salt and everything is pretty expensive to dose
