"Machinery" picture thread

oh, stop pouting. i'm guessing there won't be many people with enough time to actually go out and find a bird of prey to photograph so there will probably be older pics.

I know of a guy here who got some AWESOME snowy owl shots recently... And I'll be interested to see if Louis has had the chance to put anything together. There is hope for this one. Not for me, the only thing close to birds of prey around here are the Chicago Blackhawks, but there is hope.

Alright MiNdErAsR, I will play along. Took this shot last weekend in the Florida Everglades. I'm no bird expert, but I believe it to be a Cormorant, which I believe is a bird of prey, of sorts. The second picture is something that hunts birds of prey for sure!!!

I'll put up the thread tonight Jim. Pics don't start going up till after 9pm. We've been looking for owls for years. They're posed to be in this area!!!

Is that alligator mechanical?

No Paul, it's real, but in keeping with the mechanical theme to answer your question, I thought this thread "changed gears" in post #20, so I posted the bird, and the birds' predator. Don't be too hard on the newbie to the photo forum, he knows not what he's doing!

By the way, I hope your bride is recovering nicely.

I was just asking, it could be mechanical. OK, maybe not. But I am sure the bird is. :lol2:

Other pic i didn't mean to load but its a partial view of a Davenport Screw machine I ran for an aerospace company making panel pins. An incredible machine from the 50's era.

I saw a picture recently at work. Apparently snowy owls are wintering near the airports in NYC and very much need relocating.
