Macro algae ID .

I found some of this stuff floating around out in the Ocean today.
Kind of looks like a form of Red Caulerpa.
Any ideas?

I am going to put it into my fuge for a little diversity and to see what happens.

Any reason why I shouldn't?

I believe that there be Sargassum... which is actually a brown (possibly S. polyphyllum). As for the rusty tint, well, it happens.

To my thinking it's not appropriate for a reef aquarium ---the weeds grow big to the point of blocking out light, leak yellowish gunk into the water, and tend to vote for all the wrong Democrats.
