Macro algae Id

I have a big brown leafy algae (among others growing) that has been snipped off by a stone crab!! He's out now haha. Anyone know what it is?

Not sure. Only thing that came to mind was padina..
Hmmm.. looks cool though! The rock ispurdy too. I'm guessing the macroalgae is a hitchhiker? Where did the rock come from?

Nah it's not padina, I was searching for a while but couldn't see anything that was the same. Funny coz I thought it looks like quite a regular type. Yeah it's a hitchhiker, there's some other types growing too. Keeps my nitrates nicely down (almost undetectable). I'll post pic of the other stuff to then. I got it from a fish shop (called vebas), in Fremantle, western Australia.

I also got Favia, plate, mushroom, some type of montipora and goniopora coral as hitchhiker's too!

That's really cool! Wish I could get rock like that in the States. Gulf coast aquacultured rock is similar but obviously different assemblage of macros and coral
