Macro Algae Not Doing Well?

I've finally got a 20 gallon refugium on the bottom of my tank and ordered the macro algae 6 pack from http://www.ipsf.com and am having some problems.... I think....

It's been about 3 days since receiving the algae and some of the algae are turning lighter in color and very tiny pieces have turned white... Are my algaes not doing well? Could it be the light? I have a 25watt spiral light that is equivilent to a 100watt from home depot and the lights have been on 24/7.... Or can give me some advice?

u can expect some initial diebak. Go easy on the light at first . . . and even later not too much. I have a 175 MH about 3 feet above the fuge. Grape grows fast. The reds and chaeto are a good bit slower!

Macro's need large nutrient inputs and iron additions generally help too. Heavy feeding is usually good for the macro nutrients like N and P. Iron is rapidly consumed and often the macro's benifit from controlled additions. I'd also be inclined to boost your lighting, add a 2nd spiral light and you should do fine.
