Mag open mouth

hobbzz

How do I change this?
Would this be considered "gaping" or just open normally because it's hungry?

I've had the mag for a couple weeks. Has never deflated, it even stays inflated at night. It's mouth was closed until yesterday or the day before. Nothing has ever protruded from the mouth. It's fairly sticky, and feeds when the fish do. It also hasn't moved since I added it, and has stayed attached to the same spot I placed it on initially. Tank params are:

NH3 - 0
NO2 - 0
NO3 - 2.5ppm
PO4 - 0 (via lanthanum chloride through a 1 micron filter sock)
Salinity 35ppm
Temp - Heater comes on at 79.5 and off at 80.5. Tank stays between 79.5 and 81
Par - it's getting around 300-400

I have cipro, should I wait a few days or treat now? Thanks.

Looks okay. Open is fine, gaping is not. I define it as gaping when it appears lose, as if it cannot close it. If it's open and the area surrounding it appears tight. then it should be fine. All if my nems -- gig, mag, and haddoni -- open their mouths from time to time.

Thanks D-Nak. How often, on average of course, do they usually keep their mouth open before closing it again? Usually measured in hours, days, or a couple weeks?

I fed it after my initial post, and it has closed slightly since then:
