magnet PH holders?

A LFS nearby carries them and reports a good experience with them. I'd like to try one but they are a bit expensive to justify right now since my PW is doing ok hanging on the back of the tank.

You could also DIY one with a magnet algae scraper or as in this thread.

thanks, looks interesting - not much of a DIYer, tho I agree, ~40 dollars per PH is pretty steap for just a pair of magnets.

I asked a question similar to this and a few people had said that they were real nice.

I went with the Tunze Magnet for my Tunzes though (just for the brand name :X )

I bought a pair of those magnets for my MJs. Despite them costing twice as much as the PH itself, I'm very glad I bought them. It's nice not having to worry about fighting suction cups to stay on, and I've found that you can make minor adjustments of the PHs position without sticking your hands in the tank (by making slight movements with the magnet on the outside of the tank). Anytime I decide to add a PH, it'll definitely be pairing it with a magnetic mount.

thanks, that's the feedback I was hoping for - I guess tonight I'll be ordering some magnets.

I have some. love them. Very strong. I can barely get them apart when outside of the tank. My PH is staying put!

I ordered them last night $114.00 with shipping. Someday this 100+ a week insanity has to stop. *sigh*

I really should get out of this hobby while I still have money. :D

They work very well. The kit includes adapters so that they can be used on different types of powerheads (tunze, maxijet, etc). They give you a lot more flexibility in positioning your powerheads. The only disadvantage is the magnets look a little unsightly on the outside of the tank.
