Them two make your 250g looks like a nano ..lol...I guess more reaquascaping is in the near future. Awesome looking tank Ace, like always

Impressive!!! That gig looks very happy in the vid and appears to like it's location as well. I just got some Picasso clowns that look like yours. I am really looking forward to the time when all of the black fills in and they get bigger.

I wonder what is causing your Gig to shrink with the water changes?

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Ok just saw the vid. I know its about the nems but to be honest I'm really impressed with all the gorgonians you have! I want to try some in my tank. Probably once I start the cube.

thanks, i think it was doing it to change out some of its water. funny thing, after i took that picture, it only did that one more time and not quite as exaggerated. i did a larger than usual water change the other day and it didnt react at all.

thanks, i have always liked having them in reef tanks. since this tank doesn't have a sump or skimmer, they get more natural food from the sand bed and really thrive.

for size reference - that reef crystals lid is even with the mouth

i would say the ritteri has made a full recovery at this point. even though i feed it chopped up squid and mysis once a week, it still snags food every time i feed the fish.

Very good. How often does it ball up?

Mine is rarely balled up anymore. Always stretching.

every time i feed the tank thawed food, it catches some and balls up. it really closes up tight when i spot feed it squid and mysis

Wow, what an amazing tank! I would love to see your s. gigantea completely flattened out(like a pizza) in order to see how large it truly is(I know this is not possible). Thanks for sharing, I'm going to stop drooling now:)

your tank looks great. I am glad that both anemone is doing well. I am going for the same combination in the future in my DT. I am glad that it can be done.

This makes me tempted to try a Mag in my tank, with the two gigs... I say tempted because likely I don't have the stomach to try it.

Beautiful purple gig though, he is HUGE.

thanks for the compliments everyone.

just a couple of update pics today in the middle of the day. the mag continues to get bigger and grow its tentacles back. in the tank right at a year now.

(you didn't really think i could get that whole thing in a top down shot did you?)

thanks guys. had a bit of a scare today. turned off all flow to kill some aiptasia and the gig leaned over and grabbed the glass like it wanted to move. i turned on the wave box to try to convince it to let go and it just held tighter. luckily i was able to coax it loose.

Anemone taco haha awesome... if and when I upgrade from my 40g I am going to dedicate it solely to a haddoni or giggantea whichever I find healthy first.. do you think that a 40 would be too small for either or plus a pair of clowns? As far as chemistry goes my parameters are spot on and have succesfully kept sps before and also an atlantic haddoni or atlantic carpet anem..

i think a 40 would be fine at first, with the understanding that a haddy or gig would eventually outgrow the tank and need a better home. this gig in my tank is about 20" across when it is opened up at its largest, and will probably grow a bit more. i have heard of haddies that are about 2' across as well.

This makes me tempted to try a Mag in my tank, with the two gigs... I say tempted because likely I don't have the stomach to try.

Indeed, strikes me as one of those situations to lay down until the feeling goes away. Tempting fate IMO.
