Magnifica Anenome!!!!!!!!

This was my latest addition to my reef......
I am so excited about this animal....wish me luck...they are a challenge....

So far so good.... when I put him in he got jammed between two rocks
and I had a bugger to get him out.....carefully.....

He is now sitting on a pedastal display rock.....and I am thrilled that he
grabbed on...hopefully he stays there..he has lots of current...and is under 400 watts of 20K XM and plenty of flow.....


Wish me luck people....His name is McCartney after my hero....

Man I hope he makes it....
I will do my best.....

Any and all tips welcome...I have kept them before but its been a while. My super fear
is that he will find a power head while I am at work!!!!

Its going to move from that spot. I would move it higher in the tank. Flow looks really strong too, little much for me.

I disagree. That mag won't leave the rock it's on. I bet it won't move more than an inch or two from where it is. Mag's only move to higher ground when they can detect it. This mag is at the highest point it can reach without moving through the sand, and that's not gonna happen. The flow may be a tad bit on the high side, but not by much IMHO.

I got lucky! I called Big Als Aquarium Services in Mississauga Ontario
for fun to see if they had one in and the guy did not know squat about
anenomes but said...we have 5 new anenomes that came in last week....
I got him to describe them...one he described sounded like a Magnifica.
I was at their door in 1 1/2 hours because that is how far it is! ha!
Bang....mine....and got 25percent off if you can believe it! (sale on)

what a fluke! These are verrrrry hard to find and especially ALIVE....
The LFS that bring them in are having them arrive dead fairly often.

I am of course thrilled.....especially with a pair of ONYX clowns dripping
that will be meeting their new anenome in about 1 hour. che ching!!!!!

Mhhhh. Looks good. I don't know if I'd throw the clowns in right away but I don't know much about hosting anemones. Maybe they'll give it some time before finding it as a suitable host.

The train left the station weeks ago on the clowns.....

I will let you know when they find the anenome.....

They will, as you know, protect it and feed it....

They are very small so there is no way they will hurt it or really bother it as it is a fair size anenome and they are fairly small clowns....I hope it is not so
hungry that it EATS them! man o man that would be brutal....

Well...you might laugh...but ....for a day at least..I musssst be the happiest reefer on the planet!!!!!!! I love so many things...so many corals...so many types of fish etc...but nothing and I mean nothing about a reef turns my
crank like a magnifica anenome and a pair of onyx!!!!!! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I am sooooooooooooooooo lucky to have found them!!!!!!! They are getting very rare! I just cannot get tired of watching them dance in their home! Magnifica added 20 hours ago....clowns added about 2 hours ago...check it out....man I am happy!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thrilled the hosted right away also....
What I did is I netted them and then put the net into the tank pushing it down on top of the anenome so when they came out they had to see it
and rub against it... They still never went in right away but they went in behind rocks and hid...then 15 minutes later out they came.....dad went into the anenome and mommy followed about 1/2 hour later!!!!!

I am so stoked!

i was at a local fish store here in buffalo Saltwater Paradise they had one of thoes HUDGEEEEEE and what i say hudge i really mean hudge like the hudge guy that sells cars in grand island lol they wanted $50 for it kinda booting my self in the butt for not taking it while i had the chance but insted i picked up a blue carpet haddion that was acctually alot bigger when it is fully open which it was when i was at the pet store which is almost a hr drive from my house Pets Plus - i see ur in on canada so you might know some of the towns here in buffalo pets plus is in lockport - but anyway i paid $200 for my carpet - what did they get you for on your nem?
